The Library of Fragrance - Sunshine Review

The sun may have majorly hidden itself away in my part of the country but this little beauty is fast becoming my scent of choice whilst I really try keeping the sun alive - yes I'm sporting sunglasses in my car whilst it rains. I've turned into that person in a desperate attempt to keep that feeling of summer alive. I've been a bit boring with fragrance for years not really knowing what I like or wanting to spend too much on fragrance. 2015 has been a little different - I've tried new scents and subscribed to the fragrance shops little quarterly box too (review coming soon) in the vain attempt to nail down the notes and fragrances I love.

So when the Library of Fragrance asked if I wanted to try out a scent I was excited to give it a go. I've sniffed this brand so many times in Boots in the past and have always been so impressed by just how simple and pure each one has smelt. Sunshine* smells very different to how I expected it to - they describe it as 'a comfortable cotton t-shirt warmed by the sun with a hint of suntan lotion.' To me the easiest way to describe it is vanilla with a hint of coconut. I really like it. It lasts for a good 4 hours I find and is the perfect size for my handbag. I love layering this up with coconut body lotions for a super summer hit.

I'll be adding more scents to my collection once I can pinpoint exactly which ones to get next - how nice would it be to have a bathroom shelf just full of the full library?! It's so hard when they all look so tempting - so if anyone has any recommendations please send them over as they're currently 2 for £25 which is an offer I can't resist.

Avoiding Boots Wishlist

I've made a promise not to go crazy in Boots this year as I really need to save up & use up so many of the products I already own. However it doesn't hurt to put together a little wishlist basket does it ...?! I really want to give the Maybelline baby skin pore eraser a go and see how it compares with benefit porefessional. It will definitely be purchased when I'm in the need of a new primer. I also want to try out the Maybelline better skin foundation and concealer - my skin isn't the best at moment so I'd love to see what these can do.

I really don't need any more nail varnish but this Essie twinkle belle duo kit looks too pretty to pass up for Spring time. I've read so much about the Revlon matte lip balms and as it ticks all my lip wishes so I can't wait to get my hands on it. For the exact same reasons I'd love to try the L'Oreal Paris glam shine balmy gloss. I'm coming to the end of my L'Oreal CC creams so the Bourjois CC cream looks like the perfect new addition along with it's matching CC eye concealer. Even though my skin is getting better I wouldn't mind seeing the Nude Magique Blur Cream lives up to all of its claims.

Finally as sleek is now available in Boots I will most definitely be picking up the contour kit sometime soon. I've wanted it for ages but now it's in Boots there's no avoiding this purchase. I've done pretty well at avoiding Boots for all of 2014 so far. I might still avoid it and do a calculated online shop once over the next few months to make sure I don't get that crazy shock at the till.

Dr Jart + Re-Tighten Mask

I've read lots of good things about Dr Jart and headed to Boots to pick a few things up to try. I found picking a few things extremely hard - pretty much every single product by the brand sounds amazing. However I'm always on the look out for smaller pores so the pore refine range did stand out for me.

This Dr Jart + Re-Tighten Mask retails for £19 here and is currently on a 3 for 2. I bought it because it claims to both tighten pores, control blackheads and remove excess sebum. My skin isn't happy at the moment so it was the perfect time to give this tube a go.

It's a clay based mask that is nothing like any clay mask I've used - it's nowhere near as thick. It glides onto the skin and as it drys turns clear in many patches. It's almost like my skin is absorbing it but I can still feel it's there unlike a moisturiser. I use this once or twice a week as suggested and I love using it. It's such a lovely light face mask that really has helped with the size of my pores and the overall clearness of my skin. My skin is nowhere near where I want to be but I know using this product is really helping it on its way.

This product is pricey however it's always on a save 1/3 or 3 for 2 offer at boots which makes it a little more purse friendly. It is also a massive 100ml tube and as it's smooth consistency spreads this mask out really evenly I know this will last me quite a while. There are so many more Dr Jart + product I want to try actually more like ranges I want to try. The Most Moist Water Sleeping Mask and the V7 renewal serum are most definitely on my Dr Jart wish list. I'd love to hear any other recommendations from the range too please leave them below or tweet me @georginacallen :)

Natural Collection Cover Up Stick

I've always had this product in my make-up collection. It's never been my favourite concealer but it has been one I've repurchased time and time again and I think its kind of comforting to have it as a back up in my drawer. The Natural Collection Cover Up Stick retails for just £1.99  and is available in two shades fair and medium. It takes the form of a lipstick and can be used like all concealers to cover blemishes and high under eye shadows.

It's consistency is very thick and you need to make sure your skin is super moisturised before you apply it as it can easily form very dry spots on your face. It is a product that is always useful to have though it's cheap and does the job. It is by no means the best concealer I have used but it's useful to have lying about if yours runs out or you need something a little thicker than your normal concealer. For this reason it has remained in my make-up bag for years and I can't imagine not picking it up now. Especially when there's a 3 for £5 offer on Natural Collection I always go for this product.
