Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Lotion

The Body Shop vitamin E range has been one of my best skincare buys in ages. It's really working with my skin type (oily but dehydrated). This is a great moisturizer for the day - it's light but really nourishing and creates a great even base for my make-up. Coming in at £12 this is a lot better than much more expensive moisturizers I've tried. If you have dry skin I'd recommend the night cream from this range that is stupidly hydrating. I've been so impressed with all things skincare from the Body Shop so I'll definitely be doing another haul soon. I also highly recommend signing up to their newsletter and buying online as they have some amazing deals. I ended up getting 40% off the order that this was included in making it stupidly reasonable.

Garnier Moisture Match Shine Be Gone

I didn't mean to but I've really fallen for this little moisturiser. It retails for £5.99 but it's always on offer currently £3.99 at Boots. I picked it up as I love something that mattify's my increasingly oily face. What I love about this product is it does exactly what it says in the box. It mattify's oily skin, absorbs super fast and gives great hydration at the same time. I only use this is in the morning as I like a lot more moisture over night but for the day it's great at holding my make-up in place and keeping oil at bay. 

There's 5 moisturisers in Garniers range for different skin types Goodbye Dry for dry to very dry, Start Afresh for normal to dry, Shine be Gone for combination to oily, Wake me Up for dull, and Protect & Glow for normal skin. I would definitely recommend this range if you are on a budget and looking for a day moisture that is designed specific to your skin type. 

August Empties

It's been ages since I've done an empties post but recently I seem to be finishing off lots of little things and trying to use up lots of samples and mini's. This mini moroccan oil has actually lasted ages and at £13.50 I'm kind of happy it did. I do love this product but I can't bring myself to part with over £30 for the full size one. I still have another miniature bottle which came with a gift set and that's being used intermittently as I really don't want to run out altogether. I can't really decide if it's a lot better than the cheaper alternatives I have either so it won't be gracing my dresser in full size anytime soon. 

The Maybelline fit me foundation in 120 is a firm favourite of mine I've already repurchased it and used quite a lot of it up. It's only £7.99  and is the perfect shade for me when I have a little bit of a tan. The Benefit sample of the Total Moisture Facial Cream came in a 6 piece skincare set I received at Christmas. It's a super rich moisturiser that is a little too much for my skin - it's well scented and I think it is more suited to someone with a dryer complexion.

My samples of the Dermalogica Clean Start moisturiser have all finally emptied and my love for it hasn't finished - I love having this in full size it means I can use it every single day without worrying about the little tubes emptying on me. The L'Oreal million lashes mascara has always been a firm favourite of mine and I've been using it for years. However it's recently been overtaken by the Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp mascara which is mascara HG for me now!

Bit of an odd empty to finish on but wanted to include the Garnier Mineral roll on deodorant as this stuff is so so good and only £1 at the moment in Superdrug! It smells lovely and really does tick every deodorant box I have. I'm determined to get back into blogging properly this month as I have so many post idea's I really want to spend some time writing. There's a lot going on this month including the THCF calendar launch party and I've also got a lovely weekend booked in a lodge with friends at the end of the month. I love the beginning of Autumn and can't wait to get back into cosy knits as well as visiting Turkey for a week next month too - getting the best of both worlds!

Dermalogica Welcome Matte Clean Start Moisturiser

I have had a few miniature 15ml samples of this from various Glossyboxes and the range has been a skin saviour but this moisturiser in particular is easily my favourite and the first Clean Start full size I've needed to purchase. My skin type has always been pretty normal and if anything on the dry side - not sure why or where it's come from but my skin has got seriously oily in the last few years. I seem to have reverted back to my 13 year old self with regular pimples popping up on my t-zone. 

When I went to buy this the dermalogica lady tried to upsell me into the oily adult range which is a whole lot more expensive. She was probably talking sense considering my age however having used the ranges mini's I know that this ticks all my skin care needs. The Dermalogica Clean Start range has been designed for teenage skin with products that mattify and reduce oil in the skin. The range contains daytime/ night time moisturisers, scrub, face wash, face mist, lip shine & targeted spot treatment.  The moisturiser retails for £15.50 but can be bought for £13.30 here. A little goes a really long way with this it mattifies the skin and provides the most amazing base for make-up. I also find it controls oil during the day so helps my make-up stay on longer whilst I'm at work. 

I'm so glad I bought this full size it's the best moisturiser I've ever tried and this alongside some other clean start products is finally relieving me of my many skincare woes. When I need to stock up I will 100% be buying this limited edition Welcome Matte pack for £15.50 which includes a full size welcome matte moisturiser as well as 2 samples of wash off and bedtime for breakouts so turns out to be a bargain. 

Garnier Pure Active Moisturiser

I mostly only use this product when I have a particularly bad hormonal breakout. I've been switching up my skincare routine a lot recently and haven't had to use this much, however during dissertation time this was my go to moisturiser. It has Salicylic Acid in it which is something I always look for when trying to control my skin during a bad patch as it is the only active spot fighting ingredient I find actually works.

It claims to help protect against the appearance of spots before they appear, hydrates skin and visibly reducing skin. I agree that it does all these things and also helps remove redness from spots that are already there. One of my favourite things about this moisturiser is that it mattify's the skin - which the blurb says protects against spots - but it also makes my skin a brilliant base during break outs when my skin is at its most greasy.

It costs £4.99 for a 50ml pump bottle here  from Boots and is in a rather bright turquoise bottle - which I have to admit I really don't like. However the product itself I love. My skin is normally pretty normal but when I break out it goes really oily and I find this moisturiser calms down both my spots and mattes down my shine to give a more even base to my everyday make-up routine.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion

I've been using this product on and off for years and recently using I've realised that it definitely should be continual not just when I grab a sample. These little samples last for ages they are only 30ml but a little goes such a long way. Somehow in the last few years I've managed to accrue so many I've never actually bought this product full size. With pump and 125ml it comes in at £29. Which to me always seems a little steep but actually thinking about how long a 30ml sample lasts it would be worth while for me to just go for the full size. I love that it has a yellow tone to it as I find it evens out my skin tone a little before applying primer and foundation. I think I actually prefer the Moisture Surge moisturiser I reviewed earlier this month as it seems to soak in better with my skin and leave it feeling much more hydrated. However when I'm feeling blotchy I definitely always head to this lotion as it just leaves me with a much clearer base to start with. 

Has anyone else tried the two clinique moisturisers? I'm mad on their skin care at the moment so any recommendations will be so welcome :) 

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief - Review

As I mentioned in my Clinique Chubby Stick post  they were having their spring event so I got a gorgeous little bag full of some very decent sized samples. I've decided to review each one separately as basically I have a lot to say on each one :) 

So the moisture surge extended thirst relief is definitely the product I've been using the most so far. I am a little bit in love with it. 

The Clinique website describes it as ... 

Light, comfortable cream/gel plumps skin with hydration for a full 24 hours. Fine lines, flakiness and tightness are washed away. In their place-a sense of supple, firm, vibrant well-being, even through shifts in humidity. One 'drink' and skin looks and feels happier, healthier.

It's one of those weird products when you think 'it's a little bit oily in texture and it won't be for me' I was so wrong - for me it did exactly what it says on the tin. It's a lovely gel/ creamy formula and a little really spreads a long way. It leaves my skin feeling completely refreshed and moisturised whilst providing a perfect canvas for make-up or primer or just about anything! 

I've been suffering from super dry skin recently and after using this for a few weeks my skin is pretty much back to normal despite the prolonged freezing weather. 

This product isn't cheap and comes in at £30 for the full size 50ml. Right now I can't justify spending that much money on this product but it is definitely on my 'lust list'  for when full time employment comes my way again. Luckily a little goes a long way so I'm hoping my little sample will stand out this horrible winter weather to get my skin through.
