The Body Shop - Lightening Touch

I have lightening touch in shade 00. It's pretty much a little more skin toned benefit high beam in a twisty pen. This has some amazing reviews on the body shop site but it just hasn't found its way into my everyday make-up. I like the applicator it twists up so gives you direct application to wherever you need a little highlight. It's good for brow bones and the top of your cheek bones but it's not the best I've tried. It only houses 3ml aswell so I know it will run out soon as do most twisty pen applicators in my experience. This isn't going to blow your socks off but it is a nice direct application highlight that you can pop in your handbag. I won't repurchase it but I have enjoyed using it.

Revlon Baby Stick - Pink Passion

After finishing a lent beauty spending ban I went a little crazy in boots (standard) and this cute little dual purpose product caught my eye immediately. In my haul I picked up all the beauty bits I've been lusting after during lent but this was completely unknown. I hadn't read anything about it or really heard much on it all but it was cute and pink and I needed it.

The Revlon baby stick comes in three shades, this bright pink (pink passion) a bright red (sunset) and also lighter coral toned pink (tahitian). I was immediately drawn to Tahition but when swatching in store I just got no colour pay off at all. I thought it maybe a dodgy tester but thought I'd be careful and buy the shade that had a good colour pay off. Mind you it is doesn't have anywhere near as much pigment as it does in the stick. The swatch above is a good 10 swipes to get that colour.

I really wanted to love this product as it is an ideal handbag essential but it just did nothing for me. It completely dried out my lips as you can see above. I love a matte lipstick and never have problems with them but this accentuated any dryness in my lips and just made them feel tight and unloved. I can't even say it's a good stain because it is so drying you can't put anything on top of it without that lip product looking awful too.

On the cheeks it is a little better but it isn't a good blush at all. It gives a pop of colour but it's awfully greasy to apply and looks out of place with my other make-up. It kind of makes my cheeks look oily and it slid off pretty quickly. I really wanted to like this as I've had such good experiences with lots of other revlon products but this just didn't do it for me at all. I've picked up some other reviews since my experience and I do think this is easily the most pigmented shade from seeing other swatches but it just doesn't translate onto the skin very nicely at all. I feel a little happier that this was part of a 3 for 2 as it isn't worth a penny of its £6.99 price tag sadly.

MAC Powder Blush Immortal Flower

Another cheeky MAC purchase - this is my first powder blush and the first of many. I love this shade it's a gorgeous very light peach and it so perfectly subtle and I have worn it every single day since I bought it two weeks ago. It's very much the same shade as the Maybelline Dream Touch Mousse Blush I reviewed in shade apricot here. I can't find this shade online but I picked it up from the Cosmetics store for £12.75 the blushes' usually retail for £14. I will be buying many more MAC blushes I just love how soft they are and how beautiful the shade range is.

Wearing L'Oreal Caresse in Dating Coral with Topshop Neon Rose Blush 

I am reaching for Coral toned products daily at the moment both from my make-up bag and in cosmetic stores. I love the colour - hence the whole background of this blog. I wear it all the time and I love how it goes with the brown of my hair and the majority of my wardrobe. It also sits so well with my love for a tan too. These are some of my favourite lip and cheek products that I layer up wear alone and always have stashed away for all occasions. It's definitely my summer colour - it can be worn with a hint of colour or built up for a pop of colour. 

Benefit Cha Cha Tint

I am loving coral make-up at the moment. Blusher and lipsticks in coral tones are forever being bought by me they scream summer and just go with my entire wardrobe and brunette hair. I was lucky enough to be bought Cha Cha Tint for my birthday by my friend Claire. I have had it just over a week now and have pretty much worn it every day. It's a thicker consistency to Benetint which makes it more blend-able on the cheeks. It also acts as a brilliant tint to lips as the consistency too means it doesn't just sink into the lines in your lips like I found some of the brighter colours to do. I'm not a huge fan of the little brush applicator but it is the same across the range. The packaging is beautiful in my opinion it sits proudly on my little make-up counter as it is just too pretty to be put in the blusher drawer. It is expensive at £24.50 like a lot of the Benefit brand but these do last so long that I actually think it's good value overall. There are lots of Benetint dupes but I'm yet to find one for Cha Cha tint which is such a lovely shade of coral too so this is definitely another reason to purchase.
