Christmas Party Nails 2014

I have a few Christmas nights out over the next few weeks that range from casual drinks to full on work parties. I also have one on a Wednesday night (:o) so I need a simple Christmas party nail that isn't garish for the office, goes with all of my outfits and has the smallest hint of Christmas fun. I've opted for my favourite nude 'nyla nude' from Models Own. This is one maybe 3 nail polishes I have ever finished a bottle of I'm on my 3rd and I couldn't love or recommend it more. It's a gorgeous warm toned nude that really suits my skin tone and is one of the only ones I've found that doesn't verge on grey and too cool it's so gorgeous and warm. I've topped my ring finger with Models Own 'catherine wheel'. I used Essie Ridge Filler as a base to hopefully make this nail last a good few parties without chipping. I need to find some nail glue though as I have lots of cute gems but nothing to stick them on with. I'm thinking full on gold bling for Christmas Day.

Graduated Glitter Christmas Nails

I've been testing out Christmas nails for the last few weeks - some failed miserably (nail transfers I'm talking to you) some annoyed (nail wraps) and some were just more effort than they were worth (miniature Christmas stickers.) I've plumped with this graduated glitter look for the big day this year as it will go with whatever I chose to wear - obviously something red, gold or black and having such heavy glitter on the tips gives the look real durability and means I won't be chipped by boxing day. I used the same graduated glitter method I mentioned here and I used Models Own Gold Digger, Nails Inc Victoria and Albert and these eBay nail art pens

Models Own - Mirrorball - Hot Stuff, Pink

One Coat
Two Coats

I am a huge Models Own fan and slowly their shades are replacing all other brands in my collection. When recently at Westfield's I made a trip to the bottle shop. I didn't intend to buy anything because I knew the 50% off offer was close to beginning on their Facebook page but the offer of a free mirrorball polish with the purchase of three shades was too good to pass by.

The Mirrorball range contains 5 shades - Boogie Nights (purple) Dancing Queen (green) Disco Inferno (gold) Freak Out (blue) and Hot Stuff (pink) that I picked up. At first I wanted Disco Inferno but when looking at it swatched it had a little too much green in to see myself using it very much.

I love Hot Stuff it's a gorgeous pink with blue toned glitter varnish. It has a mixture of large and small glitter pieces that can be built up to create a lovely glitter effect. It looks cute on nude or pink varnishes I do find you need a clear top coat as the larger glitter pieces sometimes need sealing. It's perfect for a statement nail!

All things gold that glitter.

So Christmas may have passed but I'm still obsessed with all things gold and glitterery. I'm like a moth to a flame at the moment literally uncontrollably buying anything sparkly and pretty. Maybe it's just a girl thing but I wanted to share a few bargains I picked up recently. This really is the tip of the iceberg but dresses and clutch bags will be featured at another time!

The photo's don't really show this little purse off but I absolutely love it. It's from H&M and was only £1.99. Again I can't find this on their website but it's just a perfect little coin purse to take on nights out. I ordered it early December but it only just arrived. I think the H&M website is amazing because sometimes my local store is like a jumble sale with clothes everywhere so it's so good to have everything in one place. However one a couple of occasions even though it says in stock on the site they have sent a letter saying it will be despatched a couple of weeks later or in this case a month which is really annoying!

This item combines two of my favourite things, leopard print and gold glitter. This glasses case is massively chunky but it's perfect because can hold some huge shades or just my glasses. I love it and it was only £1 from Primark literally too excited when I found this!

Finally this is was a steal at only £7 its a 100ml perfume called 'gold' from Marks and Spencer. Every year at Christmas I am always bought so much perfume from various family members but this year I was left perfumeless! So when I saw this I couldn't resist as it was so cheap, it was in their sale and it isn't on their website but in my local store they literally had about 50 bottles so sure it's widely available. It's a perfect daytime scent floral and fruity with a hint of oaky tones. I love it.

I have bought another clutch bag and dress but they will be featuring in an upcoming party blog. :) How long can I carry this gold obsession on for?
