Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - The Perfect First Powder

I've only started using powder in the last year or so as I prefer a much more dewy finish. It reminds me of girls at school caked in an orange toned powder that they used to build up during lessons with a little white puff giving them an orange jawline and it's put me off for a good 10 years. I now however want to make my make-up last on nights out and long days in the office so it was time to give this powder thing a go. I've tried a few over the last year but is easily the best and probably the most iconic one I've tried. It's only £3.99 :O so it's a must for most make-up bags. It dusts on really easily - I use the real techniques powder brush - and gives a lovely transparent matte finish that holds my make-up in place a little longer. It doesn't look overly like you have powder on but just sets and finished your make-up which is perfect for what I use it for. I'm a massive fan of this product - being picky I would love a flip lid but that's just me. I'm so glad I got over my 15 year old inhibitions about powder and have bought it into my make-up routine.

The sun is finally shining! I've bought out the pinks and fell back in love with Rimmel Wake Me Up again! It's the perfect drugstore summer foundation for me - brilliant coverage to take you out of the cold season and gives the skin the loveliest glow. I'm really in love with the HD brows palette in Foxy too right now - this is my second palette and has everything I need for a basic eye and brow look - I love this quad!

I'm trying to save my pennies at the moment so doing things that cost nothing at the weekend is my new hobby. However walks with the boy and prepping the weeks food isn't all that glamorous so a bright lip is adding that to my life. I'm so fed up of the constant rain and cold weather but a slick of this lipstick brightens up any day. Having a movie night in is much more fun when you've paired your PJ's with a bright red lip. I'm not sure why but it is.

I've used my Rimmel Matte lipstick in 110 a lot since purchasing and reviewing it back in February. It was quite a bold shade for the summer for me so when looking for a deeper red for the winter I thought it would be the perfect range to head back to. I really like the finish to this range - they are super pigmented and have a non-drying matte finish. I find them a little more satin than full on matte which I really like. Shade 110 is quite out there for me it's a deep red wine shade but it was just what I wanted for the winter and for Christmas parties. I wear a lot of black so I think this shade will offset it nicely. It's definitely not an everyday shade but I'm so glad I have something autumnal in my collection ready for parties!

I've been searching for a wearable red lipstick that doesn't completely wash me out - I've found it in this delicious orange toned red from the Rimmel Kate range. It has a velvety texture and after a few coats gives really good coverage. I can't wait to sport this with a black dress and a bit of a tan on a night out in a few weeks. It's the red I've been looking for and it's matte which is a bit like a dream for me. I don't really like the packaging of this lipstick something about the bright red and black  together don't really do anything for me but I'll let it go as I love the shade too much. 

1000 Kisses - Nothing But Nude

Have a bit of a thing for lipsticks, and lip products at the moment. After my pure love for the Revlon Just Bitten range back in February I thought it was time a nude stain entered my life. I adore the bright pink of my Revlon stain but it just isn't an every day kind of colour for me. So I thought I'd give Rimmel 1000 kisses ago. It can be bought here from boots for £6.99. I adore the name 1000 kisses I think it completly sums up lip stain products and is super cute so thats probably what drew me into buying this over a Revlon Just Bitten in a similar shade.

I actually found that this product didn't apply to evenly as the colour alone came out kind of patchy and sunk in heavily into any creases my lips may have had giving a really uneven finish. Putting the balm on top kind of evened out this problem and gave a much more even finish. I actually find though that the shade I bought (nothing but nude) is a little too close to the natural colours of my lips so doesn't really do much for me. I've taken to using it as a kind of lip base as I find it really brings out the colours of other bright lipsticks I have really well. 

As always though alone a lip stain is drying so if your lips are too dry this isn't for you. I wasn't that impressed with the application or colour of this stain but its maybe due to the fact that the nude didn't have much differentiation from my own lips.
